Sales teams show you the model flat. Ask to see the actual tower. Things I look at:
- Concrete surfaces: honeycombing (small holes) on columns and slab edges means poor compaction.
- Curing: are fresh slabs kept wet? Dry slabs in May are a bad sign.
- Steel: is the reinforcement rusting in the open? Some surface rust is normal; flaking rust is not.
- Plumbing shafts: are they wide enough to repair later?
- The labour camp: a clean, organised site usually means an organised builder.
Go on a weekday, not the Sunday open house. You see the real work.
