How noisy is a flat facing the ORR, honestly?

One shortlisted flat faces the Outer Ring Road, about 250 m away, on floor 14. The flat card's noise figure for that side is high in the day and still noticeable at night.

Does anyone live in a flat like this? Do double-glazed windows make it bearable? I work from home three days a week.

We are 400 m from the ORR on floor 11. With the windows closed it is fine. With them open you hear a constant hum, worse at night when the trucks run.

Good double glazing helps a lot, but only with the windows shut. Check whether the bedrooms face the road or away from it. Same flat, other side of the tower, can be much quieter.
